Chateau d'Exindre la Magdelaine
Despite being the Geroudet family domain since the revolution in 1789, they have only been owners of the domain for a fraction of its time producing wine! The church produced wine here in the 11th century, and it is likely that the Romans who built a villa here also produced wine.
Today Chateau d’Exindre is one of the few producers of Muscat de Mireval, the smallest of Languedoc’s sweet wine appellations. As the domain is just a kilometre or so from the sea, the stony vineyards, which lie on gently sloping land, benefit from warm sunny days and a cooling onshore breeze through the night. This allows the grapes to ripen well, while retaining much of their natural acidity allowing the Geroudet family to make wines with a lovely balance and Muscat with much complexity and character.
