Chateau Ollieux-Romanis
Corbieres is the largest Appellation in Languedoc, and Chateau Ollieux-Romanis is certainly one of its best producers. The domain is situated in the Boutenac sub-region of the appellation, an area reknowned for quality and the production of interesting wines, so much so that it was granted its own appellation a few years ago, and now has cru status for Corbieres.

The vineyards are on sheltered south-east facing slopes of hard red clay soils. Here Carignan retains its position as one of the most important grape varieties, and it is used as a base for all the AOC wines, with Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah also important in many of the blends.

Currently we only list one wine from this domain, but it is a gem!

Cuvee Prestige, 2010

Chateau Ollieux-Romanis
Cuvee Prestige, 2010

This rich, complex and balanced wine is made from Carignan with Grenache and a little Mourvedre. It has a lovely deep nose and palate with lots of dark berry fruits, plums and spice all noted with lovely ripe and soft tannins. This well rounded wine is very complex, and very drinkable, particularly with well flavoured food.
