Chateau Ollieux-Romanis
Corbieres is the largest Appellation in Languedoc, and Chateau Ollieux-Romanis is certainly one of its best producers. The domain is situated in the Boutenac sub-region of the appellation, an area reknowned for quality and the production of interesting wines, so much so that it was granted its own appellation a few years ago, and now has cru status for Corbieres.

The vineyards are on sheltered south-east facing slopes of hard red clay soils. Here Carignan retains its position as one of the most important grape varieties, and it is used as a base for all the AOC wines, with Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah also important in many of the blends.

Currently we only list one wine from this domain, but it is a gem!

Chateau Ollieux-Romanis
Cuvee Prestige, 2008

A new vintage of this blend of old vines Carignan, Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah. It is a lovely rich complex and balanced wine with aromas and flavours of black cherries, plums, mocha, spice and a lovely touch of complex dried herbs like bay leaf and thyme.
