EPSL CSA Blanc 09

L'Ermitage du Pic Saint Loup
Cuvee Sainte Agnes Blanc, 2009

AOC Languedoc

The 2009 Cuvee Sainte Agnes Blanc is like its predecessor vintages a highly impressive wine. The pale gold wine has a lovely distinctive nose, with aromas of lemon, cream, vanilla, yellow plums, blossom, green apples and a touch of the characteristic bulb fenel. The palate is full of flavour, with floral notes behind much fruit including passion fruit, yellow plums, mirabelles, green apples, vanilla, cream. A rich wine, it does not lack a lovely freshness and good length, where one finds good minerality, a touch of sweet spice and a trace of fenel. As all of the wines made by Pierre Ravaille this is a very well balanced wine.

For those who have drunk previous vintages of this wine, I put it between the 2007 and the 2008 wines in terms of style. It is not as pure as the 2007 (and won't be as long lived), and is less fleshy than the 2008.
